How did it get to this?

2015:

-3 college friends decided to start an NGO that would offer free services for youth in their region
– got their first project for running everyday programme
-1 employee
-40 volunteers
– 5 000 € revenue

2016-2017

-3 new long term projects
– employed 2 project managers
– 30 volunteers
-50 000 € revenue

2018-2019

-4 new long term projects
– employed 2 marketing managers and 1 administrator
-15 volunteers
– 250 000 € revenue

After 4 years of operations IYC had a turn around in their business. One founder left the consortium and a lot of volunteers followed. But thanks to networking skills of their project managers IYC got a project partnership with a local university that allowed them to increase their revenue for 400%!

With the number of projects climbing to 8, founders had to employ new staff to decrease the overload on the existing 2 project managers. After a lot of discussions they decided that their priority is to invest in marketing and employ 2 marketing staff, as well as 1 administrator who will handle the administrative work of the projects.

Future projections…

They hope to get more visibility and even more projects. They expect that volunteers will take over project management tasks so that project managers can focus more on project writing, rather than project implementation.
